Utah Music Festival

On September 6th, 2008, the Ogden Amphitheater will be filled with Utah’s local musical and artistic flair. “There will be musicians from many genres from every part of the state,” says festival co-founder Jared Christensen. The festival is scheduled to run from 12pm to 8pm with a festival afterparty to take place at Rumors a private club located directly acrossed from the Ogden Aphitheater at 2510 Washington Blvd.
“We want to create a really engrossing atmosphere for the average person,” says Jason Rodriguez, co-founder, and co-director of the festival. “We want to show people what’s in their own backyard.” Rodriguez feels the festival is a means to promote Utah music, which he deems an underutilized resource. “I feel that there is not enough promotion for talented artists, so we are giving local musicians an opportunity to be heard,” says Rodriguez, also part owner of a professional recording studio in downtown Ogden, called Studio 801.

WOW ! This was a great weekend for local Music. Almost too much going on to catch it all.
Friday was Joe McQueen day in Utah, and we were all able to celebrate with Mr. O-town and Friends at The Wine Cellar. This is always a delight and the only place for Jazz in Ogden!
Also Friday : Just like old times @ Brewskis with 2 local favorites in one killer show. A.J. played a great first set and really warmed up the crowd of rowdy brewskis regulars. By the time Jebu took the stage it was packed shoulder to shoulder, but the groove could not be denied and dancers to over the floor.
Saturday Night @ Kamikazes was a culmonation of local hippy hoppers and patchouli rebels all ready to rock with the hottest ticket around! Any time you get Spearit & Shaky Trade in one room for a night its bound to create a vibe, and that it did for a proper celebration for 4.20.
*Sorry about the lack of Images and Video, but our camera and equipment were confiscated by the Ogden City Police early morning saturday during a bullshit arrest.
*Please be smart when enjoying yourself at the local events. There are so many option in this town to get home safely.
